Pros: This is an attempt to combine the audio conferencing, video conferencing and the screen sharing capabilities of web conferencing. This application adds the bi-directional remote screen sharing add-on so that the screen of a participant of a WEBconference can be shared with all participants and to grant control of the presenter’s screen to a participant with guaranteed security. Unified conferencing integrates audio, video and WEBconference onto one interface for PC. Although, it`s the screen sharing that changes everything making participants in a WEBconference, truly participate and not just be spectators. That constitutes the most important catalyst of collaboration and source of synergy in the organizations. This application "Accessware" adds that screen sharing capability to the “Conferenceware” product, a unified conferencing solution. During a WEB conference with Accessware, the presenter could show the screen of a participant to all. Inversely, he or she could give control of his/her screen to another participant, which then becomes a co-presenter. The way this works is that the presenter accesses the machine of the collaborator who is in conference already. The collaborator grants access, and passes him a password via IM. The presenter can now access and share/broadcast the screen to all other participants. Same thing can happen in reverse and the collaborator becomes the presenter. Participants need to open a screen sharing software, which will establish an encrypted tunnel via a SSH server transparent to firewalls. Icons on the screen provide access to this software and simply clicking this is all that is needed. When WEBconference ends and the Accessware application is closed, absolutely no trace of communication is kept on either side. It integrates with most CRM applications as well as with Outlook and Skype. The greeting is customizable for each client`s company image with their logo. It is hosted on the WEB as a service or can be installed on the Intranet of a client. Cons: Allowing access to anyone outside is always viewed with suspicion. How many people would be ready to allow this is a question. Overall a nice functionality but then there are other solutions available without the twist. Overall a 3 star level seems appropriate.
