SwitchProxy Tool Description

Anonymous browsing using proxy servers is the way to go when you want to protect your privacy and identity while navigating on the Internet. There are various applications that can help you achieve this purpose, while modern browsers come with built-in proxy support. In case you are still using old versions of Firefox (up to 2) on an old-generation computer, SwitchProxy Tool can add proxy support to your web browser. It is a simple extension that is intended to help you quickly switch between different proxy configurations. The proxy server to use can be selected from the drop-down list in this toolbar. Once installed, this extension adds a new toolbar that provides one-click access to choosing the proxy server to use. On the downside, a predefined list of proxies is not available, so you must configure every option manually. SwitchProxy Tool comes with two different configuration modes. The 'Standard' mode helps you set up a single proxy server, while the 'Anonymous' mode is designed for those who want to add an extra layer of protection to their browser by using multiple proxies. Choosing the 'Standard' mode opens a window where you can paste an automatic proxy configuration URL or manually enter the desired proxy server IP address and port number. The alternative is to choose the 'Anonymous' mode, which allows you to import a text file containing several addresses or import the IPs directly from a dedicated website that displays lists of free proxy servers. Additionally, new HTTP, SSL, FTP, GOPHER and SOCKS servers can be added manually. SwitchProxy Tool comes in handy for those who are using the first versions of Firefox, providing them with a way to make their connection anonymous.
