Editor's review: An add-on for Internet Explorer that extends its basic functionality, including a password manager plus form-filling tool. Pros: QuickNet is an add-on for Internet Explorer. The main feature is a password manager and automatic form-filling facility, which reduces the number of passwords to remember and also makes cumbersome forms a breeze. This is mainly done by creating a QuickNet identity where you provide all the required information and thereafter this identity will enable you to automatically fill in a form. Mouse gestures are supported for a number of functions, and in general this improves the whole Internet Explorer browsing experience, and it also features an inline search, which still is one of the things missing in the standard Internet Explorer. Cons: The problem is that once a QuickNet identity is created and all the information is stored, how is the security maintained? There doesnt seem to be any authentication with regards to this and this may in fact be a serious security limitation in that once you have stored all your information and by chance someone else uses the same computer then that person can auto-fill forms with the same information. Also, some of the advertised features arent so easy to use and going to the Publishers website for help doesnt help. Although, security is supposedly enhanced it isnt clear how this is so. The effectiveness of the ad-blocker and pop-up blocker is questionable. Overall: 2 stars. It works fairly well, mainly in the password manager and automatic form-filling department. But there are too many (especially security) questions that will discourage the average user from using this. Publisher's description:
