Notepad is a popular text editing application and its functions are enough if you only use it to quickly type a note, paste a link or other basic actions. However, if you are looking for a tool that would still feature the same familiar settings, but with tab support and encryption, you can try NotepadZ. The interface somewhat resembles the original Notepad, but you can instantly notice that you can open several tabs which allows you to load or create multiple documents. Even the menus include all the Notepad functions you might grown accustomed to, with some additions here and there. For instance, due to NotepadZ, it is possible to automatically append the contents of another TXT file to the one you are currently editing. Additionally, you can embellish your text files with colors - no matter if you want to color the actual text strings or the background, NotepadZ provides you with the possibility to achieve it. Nonetheless, you need to keep in mind that the colors will not be exported to the TXT file, as this format does not support colors or any type of formatting. However, the most important difference between NotepadZ and Notepad is that the former supports text encryption, whereas the latter does not. This way, you can encrypt a text andsend it to a friend via email, without worrying that someone else could access the document - they simply need to use NotepadZ to decrypt, then read it just like any other text file. All in all, NotepadZ does bring to the table some valuable features compared to Notepad and the fact that it can be used without requiring a license can convince users to give it a try.
