Binomial PDF PCF Plotter is an application that allows you to see what happens with different numbers of trials, 'successes', and probabilities of a success occurring. For example, if you toss a coin 100 times, you expect to get heads 50 times (consider getting heads a success). That assumes the coin is fair and the probability of success is 0.5. Enter those numbers and click the two buttons. You will note at he distribution on the left is centered over 50. The probability of getting 50 successes is higher than that for any other number of successes. The distribution on the right shows that 50% of the area under the left curve is covered by 50 or fewer successes, exactly what you would expect given the centering of the left curve over 50. Now if the probability of success for heads for a coin is actually 0.1 (unfair coin), re-plotting the new data shows the curve to the left centered over 10, and the probability of getting 50 successes is very low indeed.
