otr4j is a free and open-source implementation of the OTR (Off The Record) protocol in Java.The cryptographic protocol, Off-the-Record Messaging, employs a combination of the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), the SHA hash functions and the Diffie-Hellman key exchange.Besides authentication and encryption, OTR provides perfect forward secrecy and malleable encryption.otr4j is a cross-platform utility capable of running on any operating system that comes with Java support (e.g. Mac OS X, Windows, Linux).
