MCLIDE Description

MCLIDE is a free and open-source Mac IDE for Lisp implementations on any platform. MCLIDE is a double-clickable, stand-alone Mac application that connects locally or through the network to Lisp using the Slime/Swank protocol. You can use MCLIDE on the same computer as your Lisp system, or target Lisp implementations on other computers and operating systems.MCLIDE's user interface is based on the mature IDE of Macintosh Common LISP (MCL). It provides remote listeners to evaluate expressions on the target Lisp systems. Expressions can also be executed from the built-in text editor. MCLIDE provides rich development and debugging tools in the form of dialogs for Backtrace, Restarts, Inspection, Tracing, Stepping, Documentation, Apropos, Callers, Backtrace and Restarts, all interacting with the target Lisp.MCLIDE requires MacOSX 10.4 or higher and runs both on Intel and PPC. It needs either a lisp implementation installed on the same computer, or network access to a Swank server running on a target Lisp implementation (although it also provides its own built-in Common LISP) .Use the Update item on the MCLIDE menu to get the latest advances to the application. If you encounter any problems when using MCLIDE, your first remedy is to make sure you have the most recent update, as the issue may already have been fixed.
