ExaScale IO Description

ExaScale IO (also known as ESIO) is an open source library software implemented in C99 and engineered to use parallel HDF5 for providing high throughput, yet simple input and output for structured data sets. The main goal of the ExaScale IO library is to support writing and reading of turbulence simulation restart files. Being written in C99, the library can also be used by applications that are written in C++ and C89. The turbulence simulation restart files supported by the ExaScale IO library can be found in both C and C++ applications, as well as in modern Fortran applications. ESIO includes a Fortran API based on the F2003 standard ISO_C_BINDING.
