Gorgon Description

Gorgon project is lightweight abd simple feed aggregator. Gorgon project is lightweight abd simple feed aggregator. For now only supported feed type is RSS (Really Simple Syndication), versions 0.9x and 2.0. Atom and RDF are planned in next release. The main philosophy behind is to do job the best it can do. This means that there is no built-in web browser, various file types downloader etc. Why? Because we have tools that do this, and do it very well (Navigator, Firefox, wget, etc.).Current status of develpment is: "initial"; which means, ahem, You know, bugs, crashes, playing Morbid Angel in your sound set...Until I place some sort of tool for bugs reporting, please mail me for above behaviours.Requirements:· FLTKInstallation:For now the only method for getting binary on your system is to build gorgonfrom source code. Please note that only tested platform is Linux (WinXX shouldcome soon). For building, Gorgon does not use GNU make. Instead, build procedure is handled via "jam" utility; to be precise, ftjam (http://www.freetype.org/ftjam/) is used.First of all, you will have to download and build it (go in ftjam directoryand run "make"). After building is finished, directory is created, named "bin.xxx", where xxx is name of your platform (for example "bin.linuxx86"). Copy jam binary (named "jam") into Gorgon's source directory and run "./jam".If you have already ftjam installd on your system, you can skip previous phase and run ftjam directly. Please note that tools like current Perforce jam (http://www.perforce.com/jam/) version or boost jam (http://www.boost.org) are "not" tested. According to their documentation, previous jam versions are supported, which means that you can build application with them. If you succeded in this (or fail),please mail me.Jamfile have few options, and issuing "jam help" will show it. The most interesting options for you is "jam" and "jam gorgon". "jam" will build binary and application tests. "jam gorgon" will build binary only. Before running jam tool, you can inspect "Jamconfig" file, located in source directory. Because autoconf is not used, you will have to modified default values in it, only if dependent libraries are placed in non-default path. After compilation is finished, go in "src/" directory and run "./gorgon". Installationpart does not exist for now.
