Wondershare Video Converter Suite is a software pack that consists of two separate applications designed for video processing - DVD Ripper Platinum and Video Converter Platinum. The interface of the application is clean and simple to work with. Videos can be imported into the file queue by using either the file browser, tree view or "drag and drop" function. Working with multiple items at the same time is possible. In the file list you can check out the initial and output name and format, original and default trimmed length, along with the estimated size of each entry. By choosing the default settings, you can immediately initialize the conversion task after establishing the output profile and directory. If you are an experienced user, then you are probably interested in configuring audio and video settings when it comes to the resolution, encoder, frame rate, bit rate, frequency and channel mode. These options can be saved to a new profile or reloaded to default. Furthermore, videos can be previewed in a built-in media player. You can capture frames, merge, crop and trim videos, as well as make image adjustments (e.g. contrast) and apply effects (e.g. emboss). But you can also add watermarks (image or text), as well as select the audio track and subtitle language. In the "Options" area you can change the interface language, along with the snapshot directory and format (JPG or BMP). During the encoding operation, you can set the app to turn off the computer or to open the output directory after conversion. The video encoding program runs on a moderate amount of system resources, in order to finish a task in reasonable time. It includes a help file and keeps a fair image and sound quality in the output videos. We have not come across any difficulties during our testing.
