White Balance Description

The White Balance plug-in will allow you to correct the white balance of a photo, with some manual assistance. To use click a few times with the colorpicker on what should be white (or grey) pixels. The plugin shall calculate a correction to make those pixels color-neutral. This correction is then applied on the whole picture. Up to 10 points can be used to calculate an, average, correction. It's recommended to pick at least a few "white" pixels to get an accurate correction. If there're more than 3 pixels selected, the pixel with the biggest deviation from being color neutral is discarded. This way a single "wrong click" will not have a negative impact on the white balancing. There are 5 previews: (Recommended first preview is 0.01%) a) 0.01% and 0.05%. With those two previews there's an automatic optimalisation of the histogram. The difference between 0.01% and 0.05% is the % of pixels that could get the highest value and thus could be overexposed. b) Red,Green,Blue. The preview will leave it's color unchanged and only corrects with the other two colors. Try a few times to see the different results. When in doubt, or when it doesn't make a big difference, use the green one. The Previewgreen will keep the green color unchanged and green is for us the most sensitive color. It's no coincidence that digital camera's are more sensitive for green. By using Original you get the original picture back, without loosing you're picked pixels. When using restart, all selected pixels are discarded and you can start over. PhotoFiltre is a complete image retouching program. PhotoFiltre allows you to perform simple or advanced adjustments to your pictures and apply a wide range of filters on them. It is simple and intuitive to use, and has an easy learning curve. The toolbar, giving you access to the standard filters with just a few clicks, gives PhotoFiltre a robust look. Installation: - Decompress the file "wbalance.plf" into the "plugins" directory of PhotoFiltre. - Exit and restart Photofiltre to activate the plug-in.
