WOL Description

WOL is a straightforward piece of software that enables you to send a wake-on-lan signal to computers linked in your network. It provides a user-friendly environment which is suitable for all types of individuals, regardless of their skill level. The installation procedure is quick and does not require special attention from the user. Once it finishes, you can check out the standard window with the plain and simple layout, representing WOL's interface. You can add a new machine to the list by inputting its name or IP address, MAC and broadcast address, and port number. It is also possible to insert multiple machines into the workspace by adding a CSV file. Plus, you can export the list. WOL lets you browse an active directory, range of IP addresses, or workgroups. Furthermore, you can get the MAC address of a workstation based on its host name or IP address, as well as wake up the selected items remotely, with the simple click of a button, aside from editing the properties of a machine and disabling the toolbar and status bar. WOL is very light on the system resources, using a minimal amount of CPU and system memory. It has a good response time to commands and works well, without causing the OS to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs.
