TTF2BMP Description
TTF2BMP is a lightweight and portable piece of software designed to create Bitmap images from font types, as the name suggests. It does not come equipped with complicated features or configuration parameters, so it can be handled even by those less experienced with computer software.Portability advantagesAs there is no setup file included in the package, you can drop the executable item in a custom directory on the hard disk and run it directly. There is also the possibility to save TTF2BMP to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any PC effortlessly and without installing anything beforehand. An important aspect to take into account is that the Windows registry and Start menu do not get updated with new entries, so there are no traces left behind after TTF2BMP's removal. Simple and straightforward interfaceThe user-friendly GUI is made from a regular window with a familiar structure, which shouldn't impose any difficulties to users. All you have to do is select a font from the list along with the font style, size, outline size, shadow offset and alpha value. Optionally, you can disable anti-alias mode. A sentence containing all characters in the selected font is shown on the bottom part of the screen, and you can export it to BMP format by simply pointing out the file name and location. Performance and conclusionThe tool does not put a strain on computer performance, as it runs on low CPU and RAM. We have not come across any kind of issues throughout our evaluation, since TTF2BMP did not hang, crash or display error messages. Too bad it does not let users make up their own sentences in the preferred font. Nevertheless, it serves its purpose and practically has a non-existing learning curve.
