Editor's review: Matching games are some of the most famous form of puzzle based video games available today. Due to their massive popularity, thousands of such games have been developed for playing across various platforms like PC, Palm, PDA, mobiles, Smartphones etc. Each game comes with variations which may be related to sounds, graphics, themes, effects, backgrounds or target in any combination. Generally, the gameplay of such games revolve around arranging the pieces in a pattern in order to eliminate them and move towards the target. One such game which is another form of a line or Match 3 game developed for portable devices is Snow Lines v.1.21. Snow Lines v.1.21 by HeroCraft is a shareware game which involves eliminating the animated pieces by getting them in a required order which can be either a horizontal, diagonal, vertical line or a square consisting of four pieces. The number of tiles that the player has to arrange is pre-specified at the beginning of each level. The game has a bright and colorful interface with snow in the background along with various twinkling objects. The game has a number of emoticon like multi-colored pieces with various expressions which the player has to eliminate. At the bottom of the screen, you get a display of the required score for the level which gets reduced as you proceed towards the level completion. The grid on which the pieces are embedded can be of various sizes and shapes with some of them being difficult ones according to the level. The game is available for Windows Pocket PC and Smartphones, Series 60 phones, Palm devices and iPhone. To conclude with, Snow Lines v.1.21 is a potentially successful remake of the traditional line games with its host of features and display effects.
