The security of our Windows-based personal computers is so poor that protecting yourself and your personal and private data is almost entirely your responsibility. One of the biggest challenge is to have control over the executable programs. Does the end user really have control over the executable programs? You might be aware that PE viruses, executable Christmas/birthday cards, screen savers that are coming in via e-mail and gets activated as soon you open the e-mail.
