SMS Centre Network Description

SMS Centre is a 32 bit (Windows 95/98/NT) client for sending SMS Messages to a mobile phone on any worldwide network whose dial in service centre supports the TAP protocol. SMS Centre is TAPI compliant and requires a properly installed TAPI Device (an internal or external modem or PC Card or Mobile Phone .inf file etc) and uses a landline connection to the SMSC (Short Message Service Centre) to send a text message of up to 160 characters to any Mobile Phone that is capable of receiving Mobile Terminated SMS. SMS Centre Network Edition is identical in operation to the SMS Centre Standard Edition except only one computer needs access to a modem. SMS Centre Features: Can maintain group lists which may contain members who are in different countries and on different networks. SMS Centre accepts a command line argument in the form of . When used from the command line, SMS Centre will dial the designated number and pass the designated message to the network prior to closing itself down thus enabling automated SMS notification in response to computer generated events when used with scheduling type software. SMS Centre has a Message Queue facility and it is possible to queue multiple messages to either a single or to multiple providers. SMS Centre will work out which network to send each message to and dial accordingly. SMS Centre exposes a programming interface (Programmers API) to enable third-party programs to process messages and then use SMS Centre remotely to deliver them by Mobile Phone or Pager world-wide
