QuteCom provides you with a user-friendly softphone application that enables you to run multimedia communication sessions over the Internet, using the SIP protocol. With its help, you can easily make PC-to-PC voice or video conference calls, chat with other users or make phone calls to land line phones or mobile networks. At the first run, the application prompts you to configure your account with the SIP provider by specifying the login details, the SIP domain and the target server. Once connected, you can use this voice-over-IP client to speak with other persons that use SIP-compliant software, with no cost at all. In addition to this, QuteCom enables you to make video calls using the computer’s webcam. QuteCom helpsyou to create your own contacts book by adding details about each of your contacts in a secure database. Furthermore, you can organize them into different groups and hide the unavailable ones. Aside from unlimited free telephony, the application provides instant messaging features, enabling you to stay in touch with your friends and acquaintances. You can use it to integrate all the contacts in a single place and chat with others within a user-friendly environment. Users can add their own audio files to be used as ringtones, notifications or alerts and the application appearance is fully customizable as well. Thus, you can modify the toolbar style, change the chat theme and the colors. Advanced users can experiment by modifying the audio codec list or the advanced configuration options. Beginners are not advised to change the application’s default settings, since this might result in calling failures. QuteCom provides a multi-lingual interface that enables you to make voice and video calls or chat with your friends.
