The program is used for viewing VLSI layout which is in GDSII Stream Format. Both GDSII_to_ASCII and ASCII_to_GDSII translators are built into this GDSII Viewer. You do not need to type commands for carrying out translations any more. Free of charge (freeware) - but you are welcomed to donate Platform indepedent (using Java programming language) Zoom in / out View layers in different colors Customize colors for a layer View cell (block) hierarchy Toggle on/off for any layer Toggle on/off for any cell (block) Translate GDSII to ASCII Translate ASCII to GDSII The downloaded file name should be "gdsview.zip". Please decompress the file before running the program. After you have had Java SDK or JRE installed on your computer, you can choose from one of the following three options: (1) For Windows (XP) users, just double-click on the icon "gdsview.jar" or "gdsview.bat". (2) For Windows (XP) users, you can also click on "Start --> Run..." of your computer. Then type "cmd" followed by clicking "OK" to invoke the DOS prompt window.
