EditBy The Online Updater is a small tool to update a running programm downloading a new version from the Internet. This program is designed to work with single files only. Here is an example How It Works: 1. Your have created a program "MyProg1.0.exe" which is using the Update.exe. 2. Your program location is here: C:\Programs\MyProgram\MyPrg1.0.exe 3. Your update path is here: http://www.MyHomepage/Files/MyPrg1x.exe 4. Your Info file (optional) is here: http://www.MyHomepage/Files/MyPrg1x.txt 5. You call the Update.exe from your (running) MyPrg1.0.exe or from the commandline like this: Updater.exe http://www.MyHomepage/Files/MyPrg1x.exe C:\Programs\MyProgram\MyPrg1.0.exe Result: After that the Update.exe is starting up, showing the Information txt file from the Server. If the Update Button is pressed, the running application gets shutdown and renamed to MyPrg1.0.old Then the new file is downloaded to the original location and started (optional with parameters).
