Nidesoft DVD Decrypter is an application which allows you to convert DVDs to media files of multiple formats, including AVI, WMV, MP4, WMA and AAC. It can be easily handled by all user levels. The interface of the program is plain and simple to navigate through. You can import a DVD into the list by using the file browser or treeview only, since the "drag and drop" method is not supported. Batch processing is not possible. In the queue you can read the name along with original and trimmed length of the DVD and its chapters. Once you specify the output directory and profile, you can proceed with the encoding job. But you can also configure audio and video settings when it comes to the resolution, channel mode, bit rate and volume. Moreover, you can preview videos in a small, built-in media player and capture frames, merge all clips or trim them by marking the start and end position or time values, adjust the image (e.g. brightness, contrast), apply effects (e.g. grayscale), select individual chapters for processing along with the audio track and subtitle stream, and more. The DVD processing tool runs on a moderate amount of system resources, takes reasonable time to finish a job, has a good response time and didn't freeze or crash during our tests. The image and sound quality is preserved at a good level. Unfortunately, there is no help file available and you cannot configure program settings (e.g. enable the tool to automatically turn off the computer after encoding).
