The magic happens when you click on "Advanced" on the main window, which is where you can change all the conversion settings and access the menu settings. In terms of performance, the application also works very nicely. I converted a standard DivX AVI file, which I trimmed to a 1-minute clip, into a DVD movie. As a result, I got a bunch of VOB and IFO files. Under advanced settings, there is an entire menu dedicated to subtitles, so the app might let you add .SRT subtitles to your movies.
