MODPlug Player Description

Music has evolved and adapted to blend in any environment from works of art, leisure to soundtracks and themes. When video games came out, digitized sound was found in other formats than common ones today, one example being MOD or modular files. Specialized applications are required to play them, with MODPlug Player being amongst the few capable of doing so.Simple and intuitive interfaceNote that the application is not your common media player so you won't be able to organize your collection of songs or play them. Equipped with a compact, yet pretty intuitive interface, the application lets you quickly figure out how controls are used and when. Create playlists and adjust quality settingsYou can either import files by simply dragging them over the main window or through the dedicated menu. Moreover, enthusiasts can also organize multiple files in playlists that can be managed from an editor. The list can be saved, shuffled and even sorted out according to several criteria. Playback is flawless and comes with a set of quality configurations. Output devices are found in a drop-down menu, as well as mixing quality, audio buffering, CPU distribution and a few more. Sadly, the application cannot be controlled through hotkeys because of the lack of integrated support. A few effects and enhancement optionsIn addition, the application gives you access to several effect knobs and sliders so you can slightly enhance sound with. An equalizer lets you adjust a few frequency sliders for the right pitch, speed comes with options for different BPM values, and even some preset reverb effects to alter sound. A few last wordsAll things considered, we can safely state that MODPlug Player is a handy application game developers might want to keep around, especially enthusiasts that create soundtracks for old-school video games. Not because it comes with any editing options, but can be used in combination with the few effects it has to analyze and maybe come with new ideas for improvements.
