Keyboard Method Description

In order for you to reach the rank of musician, being one with the instrument is not enough, you must also be able to read and write music. With the help of Keyboard Method you are able to get a grasp on what playing a keyboard is all about.Step by step courseAs the application states, music is the art of combining sounds. However, in order to do so you must first learn what it really means. You are taken step by step through several chapters in which theory is presented to you, accompanied by visual support. In case something needs to be heard, there is always a “Play” button to be used whenever you feel ready. Each page can be accessed using the provided arrow buttons or selected from the “Chapters” menu. The lessons are kept short enough so that you don't get lost in details, but provide a thorough journey through music theory and makes sure no important aspect is left aside. Active participation requiredProgressing through each lesson inevitably gets you to the point where action on your behalf is required. For a better understanding you are asked to fill spaces with letters corresponding to one of the previously learned musical note. At the end of the lesson you are given a note and asked to try again in case you have not payed close attention. However, this can be skipped and you get the feeling that you are not fully required to do anything, but rather checked on from time to time. Furthermore, there is no way to practice freely withing the application. To end withAll in all, Keyboard Method is a suitable substitute for your music teacher. Close attention must be payed in order for anything to be learned, even though you are asked to participate every now and then. If music is your thing and keyboard the chosen instrument, you might just give this little utility a try. Reviewed by Mircea Dragomir, last updated on April 15th, 2014
