Find-File Description

Find-File is a high-performance Windows file search command line utility. The program is portable for any 32-bit x86 Windows version: 95, 98, 2000, XP and up. System requirements: minimal (any working Windows configuration). Usage: FF file_name_template_maybe_with_wildcards E.g., type "FF .\ v*.doc >> list.txt" to search in the current folder and all its subfolders for doc-files whose names are beginning with "v" (e.g. v1.doc, verarep.doc, etc.) and to save such files´ list in the file list.txt, or, "FF d:\ "My New Report.PDF"" to know where "My New Report.PDF" is on d: Notes: Start search path parameter string must end by backslash-character. For example, ".\" defines current directory (folder), "..\" does this for parent one, and so on. If first parameter (start search directory) is missing, the program uses as start directory the current one (".\"). Third parameter defines a full name of searched files including, maybe, usual wildcard-characters ´*´ and ´?´. This utility uses standard console Windows output allowing to be redirected on any text file by usage Windows command line standard features ">", ">>". The main difference of this utility from standard file search Windows features is high speed of the search and the possibility of more free treatment with wildcards in the specified file name template (for example, "f*" will define any files beginning with "f", with any possible extensions).
