Born on September 21, 1967, in Jackson, Mississippi, Audrey Faith Perry began her singing career at age nineteen when she became a backup singer for Gary Burr. Soon after Hill released her first album Take Me As I Am, which has since sold three million copies and in 1995, she released the album It Matters to Me, which was awarded four times platinum. In 1998 Hill released the album Faith which was successful and sold six million copies her next album Breathe would prove even more popular selling over ten million copies and numerous awards. Hill's next two albums Cry and Fireflies would not prove as successful as her previous albums both going double platinum.
