Embroidery Reader Description

Open and view embroidery designs in the PES format. It works with all PES classes by reading the PEC information found at the end of the file. Embroidery Reader is intended to view and convert PES, a file type used in CAM processes. In this respect, this file type is a standard for the industry as it allows storing embroidery designs and other kinds of images that specific machinery can interpret. There are various programs that allow creating PES files; however, they may be either too specific or too expensive. Unfortunately, PES files are not readily supported by standard picture viewers. Thus, Embroidery Reader helps you visualize the contents of PES files even when the application that created them is not installed on your system. Like most similar tools, Embroidery Reader is really easy to use. In fact, most of what it does is opening the selected PES file. Although it can be set as the default application for this file type, it does not support dragging and dropping files onto its interface. Neither can the tool open other image file types, which makes it too specific. There are a few operations that allow changing the way an image is shown. In this respect, you can change the zoom level as well as rotate it. The program also supports sending the opened image to a printer. Similarly, you can use it to save the contents in other file formats, including BMP, PNG, JPEG, GIF and TIFF. To conclude, Embroidery Reader is definitely not a versatile tool. Still, it has the merit of opening an image file type that is seldom supported by other viewers. As it supports saving to other formats, it can also be used as a picture converter. Fortunately, the product is extremely light and opensource, so there is not much to lose if you try it. Pedro Castro Editor rating:
