Editor's review: Yet another antivirus product? No. this one is a cut apart. Cogen Media has brought in the market its new antivirus product Cogen Antivirus 2007. The antivirus shines in the feature set. The antivirus features the Virtual Machine Unpacking Engine which allows for detection of viruses which hide themselves under layers to avoid detection. VUE simulates a virtual environment where the viruses automatically remove their layers and the antivirus then cleans them. This feature is new to an antivirus product. Cogen Antivirus has an Email Scan feature, which scans both incoming and outgoing mail (POP3/SMTP) for any unwanted squirming and alerts the user if it finds something. The Memory Monitor and Boot Records monitor scan the memory and active programs for viruses and boot records of CDRs, floppies, USB drives for viruses. Script Blocking is a feature which warns you if your browsing encounters a potentially malicious script. Other features include Network Blacklist which secures your computer from a computer on a network which may be ‘broadcasting’ viruses to all the computers on the network. Cogen Antivirus also supports integrated scan for a few applications as WinRAR and WinZIP, Office 2000/2003 and MSN/Yahoo!/AOL Messengers. Try before you buy! Publisher's description:
