Capture Assistant Description

Capture Assistant is a screen-capture tool for Windows. Rather than focusing on the task of capturing main screen (that is, creating a snapshot of a screen or active window), Capture Assistant adds several tools to capture virtually anything that you can see on the screen and then edit, print or share it. The application allows you to select a part of your screen and capture any text that it finds. For example, if you have some files inside a folder, you can simply select the files and tell the application to copy the text it finds to a .txt file, or to open it in a rich text editor, such as Word. Thus, you end up with a list of the contents of that folder. The only drawback is that it is not easy to select all the files in a folder; thus, applications that search for folder contents are better for this particular task. But Capture Assistant has other features as well. I like how it allows you to select a part of your screen and send the snapshot to an image editor. You can even configure which one you want to be opened. You can also have Capture Assistant send any text or image it captures via e-mail.
