BareGrep Description

BareGrep is a tiny, advanced searching utility that comes packed with many configuration options for all types of users. The interface of the app does not excel in the visual aspect but we must take into account the fact that BareGrep has not been updated for a very long time. However, the layout is intuitive and well-organized. So, you can specify a folder whose contents you want to scan, as well as filter files by name, part of name or type. Alternatively, you can look for text within files; results are displayed in real-time mode. In addition, you can enable regex syntax mode, make the app ignore cases, invert matches, pause the scanning operation, as well as export search results to the Clipboard or external file. Furthermore, you can create a list of text searches, customize the font, make the app save the window position, disable incremental searching while typing, and more. These settings can be restored to their default values at any time. BareGrep runs on a very low quantity of CPU and system memory, has a good response time and finishes a scanning job rapidly, depending on the size of your hard drive. It has a good response time and includes a FAQ page. No error dialogs have been shown throughout our testing and the app did not hang or crash.
