Arcadio is a multi-featured program for converting and organizing your CD music. It has an simple, clean, interface designed to make it easy to use. The basic idea is to collect all the information and functions for the job and place them up front where they are instantly available. Simplicity in design eliminates the need for searching to find the function you want. Everything needed to do the job is right there. Select the files or tracks to be converted in the Treeview List, then click the mouse button to start. Arcadio uses the well known "LAME" encoding engine to encode WAV files to MP3 format. This is among the fastest encoding methods around. A separate codec is used for decoding MP3 files back to WAV format. Requirements: ￭ Processor ￭ As a minimum, you'll need a Pentium processor (100Mhz) with at least 16 Megabytes of RAM, to use this program effectively. Although it will work on a slower system, like a 486, the performance is poor. In general, the faster your processor is, and the more RAM you have, the better the performance will be. ￭ Sound System ￭ You need a sound card, CD drive and speakers in order to make full use of the program. If you are only using the One-step conversion process, you do not need a complete sound system. But you do need a CD drive, of course ￭ Platform ￭ This program runs equally well on Windows 98 or Windows 95. But it does not run on earlier versions of Windows. It should perform equally well on Windows 2000, or Windows ME, but has not been tested on this system at this writing.
