Aimersoft RM Video Converter is an application with a pretty self-explanatory title - it allows you to encode media files to the RM format, but also to RMVB, RA and MP3. The interface of the program is plain and intuitive. Media files can be imported into the list by using the file browser only, because the "drag and drop" method is not supported. Batch conversion is permitted. In the queue you can check out the initial and output name and type, original and trimmed length, along with estimated size of each media file. Once you specify the output destination and extension, you can start the encoding job. Furthermore, you can modify audio and video properties when it comes to the resolution, encoder, frame rate, bit rate, sample frequency rate, volume and channel mode. Settings can be saved to a new profile or restored to their default values. In addition, you can preview clips in a small, built-in media player and take snapshots, trim them by marking the start and end time values or position, make image adjustments (e.g. brightness, saturation), apply effects (e.g. grayscale, emboss), enable Aimersoft RM Video Converter to automatically turn of the computer or to open the output directory after encoding, and more. The media conversion software runs on a moderate-to-high amount of system resources, has a good response time, quickly finishes a task and keeps a fair image and sound quality (although it could had been better). No errors have occurred during our tests and Aimersoft RM Video Converter did not freeze or crash. There's also a well-written help file with snapshots that you can look into.
