Active@ Disk Image Description

prev next Active@ Disk Image can help you manage partitions and create images of your disks. It also allows restoring a disk from one of the copies you have made. The tool supports various types of storage media, including HDD, SSD, USB storage devices, DVD, and BD. It is, in general, quite easy to use as most of the operations are wizard-based. However, there are some features that can give some trouble to beginners. As most similar programs, Active@ Disk Image supports two basic types of backups: incremental and differential. Luckily, you do not need to clone the whole disk; it is possible to pick just the desired files or folders. Good news is that you can save your copies not only to standard disks and removable drives but also burn them to CD or send them to a network destination. It is also excellent that it compresses the data in the image, which saves a lot of storage space and minimizes the time needed to transfer the files over a network. Likewise, since there are some risks involved in transferring sensitive information, the program can also encrypt data. What is more, when backing up data is critical, you can automate the process by scheduling tasks. As to restoring data, Active@ Disk Image supports rescuing your system in a crash event from any type of boot media. It also helps to clone data from a machine to another, even if the hardware is different or the target is a virtual machine. Likewise, it lets you retrieve specific files or files by allowing you to mount the disk image previously created. All in all, Active@ Disk Image does not have anything extraordinary to brag about, but it works just as expected. It certainly lacks some of the features you can find in the top software of this kind. The product is distributed in three editions: Lite (free), Standard and Pro. You should know that there are substantial differences between them, including the possibility to encrypt data and the support of incremental backups. Pedro Castro Editor rating:
