ASPCompiler IDE Description

The ASPCompiler IDE application was designed to be a tool that will help the VBScript and ASP developers to convert their applications to COM DLL's. Besides these features ASPC contains several additional ones which can be helpful for other tasks too. The core functionality of ASPC covers VBScript translation to VB (Visual Basic). Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 (VB) is used to compile the resulting files to a COM DLL. Service pack 3 for VB 6 is recommended but not required. ASPC supports almost all of the VBScript 5.0 features including Class-es, With statements, constants and more. With ASPC an ASP site can be converted to one or more COM DLL files - in fact the purpose of ASPC is to solve the problems caused by the different context, environment and program structure in VBScript and VB. Also it makes an error checking and issues a set of errors and warnings intended to help the programmer to fix problems or potential problems. The rich set of errors allows the programmer to compile ASP or VBS project without testing it in script form first, but it is recommended to do such test unless the number of changes after the last successful compilation is not very small. The reason is that VBScript is very tolerant and many errors can be caught at run-time only.
