ACiD View is a software tool that provides a simple means of viewing image and text files, with support for some of the most commonly used extensions. Advantages of portabilityThis tool does not require you to go through the installation process, as it is portable. This means that the Windows registry and Start menu/screen are not going to suffer any changes, and no leftovers will remain behind after it removal. You should also know that if you move the program files to a USB flash drive or other similar removable storage device, you make it possible to take ACiD View anywhere with you, and use it on any machine you can connect to, with just a click of the EXE. Clean environment and multiple formats supportedThe straightforward interface consists of a menu bar, a folder structure and a pane to display the selected items. It is accessible to all user types, including highly experienced people and beginners. This software utility supports extensions such as TXT, JPG, BMP, PNG and HTML files, and it is possible to open them using the incorporated tree view or the file browser. Aside from that, you can go to the previous or next item, change the resolution and font, activate a fullscreen mode, enable smooth scrolling or start a slideshow. There are multiple palettes you can switch between, so as to change the colors of the uploaded pictures, and it is possible to input the delay time (expressed in milliseconds) for slideshows, and save items to the hard drive as PNGs and AVIs with a custom number of frames per second. Bottom lineIn conclusion, ACiD View is a pretty simple piece of software, yet it proves to be efficient through its user-friendly interface and good response time.
