2d CutPro Description

2D CutPro is a DLL library for solving well-known optimization problem called "2D bin packing problem". In general, the problem can be formulated as follows. Given m bins (panels) of different dimensions that have to be cut into n smaller pieces called items. The goal is to minimize the waste. There are few versions of bin packing problem: 1. GCRI (Guillotine cutting - Rotatable Items) 2. GCOI (Guillotine Cutting - Oriented Items) 3. FCRI (Free cutting - Rotatable Items) 4. FCOI (Free cutting - Oriented Items) For wood-cutting applications first two versions of the problem are the most common, while next two cases are more likely to be seen in glass cutting applications. 2DCutPro has following features: - guillotine cutting (GCRI, GCOI) - ideal for woodworking applications - generates optimized layouts and reduces waste - user can select accaptable waste percentage (stops caculation when predfined waste percentage is achieved) - saw width taken into account during calcualtions - timeout period for complex calculations - sensitivity factor for selecting branching level
