zSNES Description

Released in the early 90's, the Super NES units, also known by their full name Super Nintendo Entertainment System, were quite appreciated by users worldwide and even if there lasted only a decade before being discontinued, the games that made history back then can be played in the modern era. This can be done with the help of Console emulators, which became very appreciated by users who for some reason can't get the actual device but still want to play their games. One of these utilities is zSNES and, as its name suggests, is tailored for the above mentioned Super NES. Without requiring installation and ready to run right out of the box, this software solution only needs you to provide the necessary ROMs to load and enjoy the games. The interface looks as old as the original console, but this gives it a 'vintage' feel. Controlling zSNES is best done using the keyboard, as the mouse tends to erratically move around the main window. Loading and running the games can be easily done, just like saving, picking or opening a game state. The configuration menu gives you the possibility to choose the input devices and customize their running options, configure chips, choose the video, audio or speed options, as well as adjust the saving settings. Those who care for an easygoing experience during a certain game, have at their disposal the 'Cheat' menu where they can load lodes, browse or search cheats. The GUI, movie and key combination options are also tweakable and yo can save the configurations for later use. Besides some glitches that may come up during the actual gameplay, zSNES does what it's supposed to very well and provides a decent alternative to users looking for a means of playing their old console games onto their modern PCs.
