shutDownAgent Description

shutDownAgent is a simple application that allows you to schedule when your computer should automatically turns off or restart. You can also turn off the screen to save power. It includes waiting for time/processes to end before shutting down. It's useful for having your computer shutdown/restart after a time consuming process has completed to save power. A quick guide to the interface: Shutdown on time regardless of processes: This makes the computer shutdown/restart once the time equals, or is greater than, the time specified. Shutdown when process(es) ends regardless of time: This makes the computer shutdown/restart once a certain process (PID) ends on your system - regardless of what time it is. Require time to complete and process(es) to end: This incorporates the two above points into one process - so if the time has equaled or passed and the process has ended it will shutdown/restart. Update Interval (s): This sets, in seconds, how often to check the time/processes. The default is 30 seconds, however 1 second does not show any noticable performance issues to my system. Mode: This allows you to select whether to turn off the system ("shutdown") or restart it ("restart"). There is a check option for "Force Mode"; when this is checked the application tells Windows to Forceably close any running applications - when not checked it will just request them to close. Shutdown date/time: The first box (top-most) is where you enter the date that you wish the application to shut the computer down on. The other box selects the time. Switch off monitor: When this is checked the monitor will turn off when you press start. If you've already started the program, just click it at anytime to turn the monitor off. Moving the mouse should turn the monitor back on again.
