The pgchem::tigress project was started in 2004 and aims to develop a complete solution for handling chemical data in a relational database management system, based 100% on open source components. While pgchem::tigress fully integrates into PostgreSQL it also is an extensible toolbox for developing your own solutions and should be portable to other RDBMS. pgchem::tigress is desigend to allow PostgreSQL handle molecules via SQL statements.
