medXS Description

medXS is a cross-platform relational database client-server application which was developed for surgical departments by medical doctors. Cross-platform development allows medXS to run on MacOS, WINDOWS 95 and WINDOWS NT, with INTEL- or POWER PC-Processor based machines as servers or clients. Users can have internet- or intranet- access via any browser. The purpose of medXS is to provide hospital staff with up-to-date information about patients before and after surgery and to observe quality assurance. medXS fulfills all requirements of documentation for the German Health System (GSG). The main functions are scheduling and documentation of surgery with coding of diagnoses and therapy, tissue banking, e-mail, on call scheduling and clinical word processing.
