mdf2iso Description

mdf2iso provides you with a simple application that aims to assist you in quickly converting MDF raw disc image files (created by virtual disc imaging programs, such as Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120%) into the ISO format, widely supported by most disc emulation software. The program only runs in the command prompt, thus those who are not accustomed with the console might find it difficult to use. Nevertheless, the syntax is simple and usage instructions are provided, thus it shouldn’t be a problem to figure out how things work. Prior to proceeding to the actual conversion, you can optionally set mdf2iso to generate TOC and CUE file descriptors, which might help you burn the resulting image easier using a dedicated application. Please note that some CD / DVD burning utilities might not offer support for TOC descriptors. In order to perform the conversion, you have to specify the descriptor options, followed by the location of the input MDF file and the output destination. Make sure that the path of both the MDF file and the output ISO image are complete, or else the program might not be able to identify their location, thus returning an error. mdf2iso is a lightweight disc image conversion tool with support for the MDF proprietary format. Its functionality is limited to converting MDF images to ISO format. Since it runs in the console only, it might be difficult to handle by beginners, but it shouldn’t pose any problems to experienced users. This application might come in handy for creating ISO images from MDF files, but the fact that no other disc image format is supported is a major drawback. Furthermore, popular burning software also include a conversion module to help you quickly change the image file type before creating a disc.
