ipod-get is an application written in Java that will enable you to index music on yoru iPod device. The steps are as follows: 1. Find your iPod mount point (or ask your for it) 2. Crawl the iPod's file system, finding .mp3 files 3. Use an ID3 library to get the meaningful information from the files 4. Add discovered song (.mp3 file and ID3 metadata) to the index . After this, the user can search files and act upon them.
