iPAM Description

iPAM is a software utility designed as a complex set of tools for web administrators, that is capable of relaying data and build information channels based on a variety of protocols and sources, including HTTP, STMP or FTP. Thus, the application is basically a framework that can link information sources with each other and retrieve, process and forward data. Thanks to the nature of the application, it can be easily extended using your own scripts and add-ons, in order to obtain the desired functionality and personalize the utility according to your requirements. Hence, since it is written in Java, new code bits can be added on top of the existing blocks and obtain a customized toolset to fit your needs. Among the supported channels and protocols that can be used to create the information links, you can also find dissemination tools, such as BackWeb or Castanet, as well as various other agents designed in Java. As previously mentioned these tools can also be created from scratch by you, in case none of the enumerated options are suitable for your purposes. Furthermore, channels can be used for specific queries that run in the background, since the entire idea of such a framework is the lack of user interaction. Thus, every action takes place automatically at given time intervals and, if the query returns any results, they can be sent via email to other users, without requiring any type of confirmation or outside intervention. In the end, it should be noted that iPAM is not intended for content browsing, or any other type of user-end purposes, but more towards website and server administrators that want to build their own information channels and need a fast and efficient way to do so.
