Editor's review: This software utility lets you rip DVDs into several of current formats. iDVDrip DVD to AVI/MPEG Converter is a software to rip and convert DVD to AVI, MPEG format, HD AVI, DivX, Xvid, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, HD MPEG, FLV, MP4, HD ASF, etc. It is possible to extract audio from the DVD discs into any one of MP2, MP3, WAV, AAC, AC3, M4A audio formats. It supports both DVD and IFO files. The interface is quite intuitive. The interface is well laid out, making it easy to use; even a complete beginner should be able to start using it quickly. The batch area is large, will let you create a batch list easily. It also lets you set the parameter/profiles necessary for conversion. The preview area is adequate but would have been nice to have a larger area. It will help burn any of the writing media available. The converted copies are made without any restrictions on the original media. The common protection methods such as CSS, RC, RCE, UOPs, ARccOS etc. does not cause any problems. When you are beyond the beginner stage you could play with tweaking a large set of parameters to optimize aspects of conversion. Volume gain, setting audio parameter, customizing file size, DVD trimming, video crop, adjusting video effects( Hue, Brightness, Contrast and Saturation), subtitle selection, audio track selection, angle selection and so forth. Non-interlacing is handled easily. This is a very good product. This is a good option when you have a need for a tool like this that lets you feed your video hunger quite easily.
