dmAmp Description

dmAmp is an input plug-in for Nullsoft's WinAmp media player, that uses DirectMusic to let you play RMI (RIFF-MIDI) song files.The latest RMI revision is supported, which means that they can contain a custom collection of DLS (DownLoadable Sounds standard) instruments - just like in the old Amiga MOD days! But much better sounding and now for MIDI!Since it uses Microsoft's DirectMusic for playback, you autmatically have both a software synthesizer and a Roland GM instrument set - so you can play midi on all PC's with a sound card - you do not need any hardware midi synth!Better yet, since the instruments are explicitly supplied, a given song should always sound identical when played on all computers!With dmAmp you will be able to listen RIFF-MIDI files using your Winamp player.Requirements:· DirectX 7 or later (8 or later for DLS level 2).· WinAmp 2.x
