Zipwhip allows you to receive or send text messages directly from your computer. As it uses your actual phone number, it lets you synchronize the messages between your phone and PC. This way, when someone sends a message to your phone number, you will receive it on your desktop as well. Similarly, you can send messages and the recipient will not even notice that you are actually texting from your computer. Before Zipwhip becomes completely functional, you will need to create an account on the Zipwhip servers. Thus, you should provide your name and your phone number. Then, starting a new message is easily done by clicking on its icon there and selecting the corresponding menu entry.
