Zip Password Recovery Key has a name that pretty much sums up its purpose - you can use it to retrieve lost or forgotten passwords to ZIP files. It also supports self-executable ZIP items (EXE format). The setup operation is rapid and does not require special attention from the user. At startup you can observe Zip Password Recovery Key's plain and simple graphical interface. Importing a ZIP file for recovery into the workspace is done using the file browser only, since "drag and drop" is not supported. Several configuration settings are available when it comes to the password recovery job. Therefore, you can enable brute-force attack mode and specify the character range, or set up a pattern. Moreover, you can customize the symbol set that is used in all tasks (e.g. lowercase, digits, symbols, custom), enable "Known Plain Text" attack mode) and use a particular key, as well as enable Xieve optimization for brute-force attacks, or dictionary-based attacks. The last option comes with multiple settings which focus on word capitalization. Settings can be restored to their default values. Zip Password Recovery Key may take a while to complete a recovery job, and it uses a low amount of CPU and system memory, hence it doesn't affect the computer's activity. No errors have been shown in our tests and the program did not hang or crash. On the downside, Zip Password Recovery Key has not been updated for a very long time, and this can be clearly observed by judging the GUI appearance.
