YMedia Description

Ymedia is a simple utility designed to set the name of the song you're listening to in Windows Media Player as a status message in Yahoo Messenger. Ymedia relies on a rather simple and minimal interface, with only a few customization options. Just after installation, you are prompted to provide the Yahoo Messenger ID to use the application, so only the user-defined accounts are able to automatically change status messages. The main window of the program is, as we said, pretty basic, and lets you configure the way the status should look like by using a few simple tags regarding the artist and the playing track. Of course, you can also add your very own words, so it's just up to your imagination. Ymedia works only with Windows Media Player, and although the developer claims version 9 is the only one that's fully compatible with this product, everything worked pretty smooth with never versions as well during our tests. As for Yahoo Messenger, it doesn't really matter the version, Ymedia gets along with both older and newer releases without any kind of error. The good thing about Ymedia is definitely the fact that you have to mention the ID in order to use the app, which means that you can keep some other accounts away from it and avoid changing status messages even if the program is running. On the other hand, more advanced customization options, with multiple tags and other attractive elements would be great for Yahoo Messenger users who are continuously looking for such a tool. But all in all, Ymedia remains a good choice for all Windows Media Player fans. It doesn't slow down the computer at all, no matter the Windows version you're using.
