X-Ripper Description

X-Ripper is a lightweight and portable application that you can use to extract multimedia files from various applications, such as video games, namely audio, video and graphics. It supports a wide array of file types, such as BMP, JPG, PNG, GIF, WAV, OGG, WMA, AVI and WMV. Since installation is not a prerequisite, you can just drop the EXE file anywhere on the hard disk and run it directly. An alternative is to save X-Ripper to a USB flash drive or similar storage unit, from where you can run it on any computer with minimum effort. What's important to keep in mind is that the app does not work with the Windows Registry or leave files behind on the hard drive after removing it. The interface of the program is represented by a standard window with a well-organized layout, where you can browse for a file to extract items from using the file browser only, since "drag and drop" is unsupported. Once you establish the target folder and select the file formats you want to extract from the application in question, you can initialize the searching procedure with the simple click of a button. There are no other notable options supplied by this utility. X-Ripper is very light on the system resources, using a minimal amount of CPU and system memory. It has a good response time and may take a while to carry out a task, depending on the app size and selected formats. However, no error dialogs have been shown in our tests and the tool did not hang or crash. On the downside, X-Ripper has not been updated for a long time.
