WriteItNow is a professional program which is intended to assist you in novel writing. When you launch the program for the first time it displays an example project based on the novel 'Ophelia’s Ghost'. The developers have been right in deciding to start the program with an example: in some way, it serves as a tutorial for beginners (the application has a lot of functions, and it is much easier to understand how it works when you can look at an example). The interface of the program is very user-friendly. There are tips which help you learn how to operate the application in an efficient way. On the left side of the main window there is a root which represents your story. This root includes many inlays. They are chapters, characters, events, locations, notes, ideas, charts, references and submissions. There are the same inlays at the top of the main window. Each inlay allows you to edit information related to the title of the inlay. For example, ‘Characters’ inlay allows you to create, delete and edit the characters of your story. ‘Events’ inlay allows you to edit main events of your story.
