World Time System Tray Description

World Time System Tray is a small application developed to stay in the Windows System Tray and show you the current time in various configured time zones. Once it gets installed and launched, World Time System Tray places an icon in the Tray that provides access to its options, but also shows the time for the defined time zones. Right-clicking this icon lets you configure the date and time format, while a left click shows the time for the selected time zones. You can add as many time zones as you want, but it's very important to know that some important locations are actually missing from the list. What's more, the dedicated window that's being used to add new time zones doesn't feature a search box, so you need to manually browse to the desired region. Java Runtime Environment is required in order to install and launch World Time System Tray, but the application runs pretty smooth regardless of the Windows version. It doesn't require administrator privileges and quietly sits in the Tray without hampering system performance. To sum up, World Time System Tray is quite an interesting project that shows you the current time in multiple time zones around the globe. It however lacks some important customization options and several locations, which may become pretty frustrating for experienced users. For example, World Time System Tray needs more tweaks for the Tray icon that can be very well used to show the current time for one of the selected time zones. More customization power always comes in handy. Reviewed by Bogdan Popa, last updated on August 21st, 2012
